Public Works

The City of Blakely has a full time public works department. James Allen, department head, and his staff are on the job in all types of weather removing trash and debris from homes and businesses in the City of Blakely.

In addition to the sanitation service, this department is responsible for the maintenance and repair of city streets, roads, and grounds, including patching potholes, street sweeping, and grass mowing along sidewalks, roadways. During summer months they maintain a mosquito-spraying program to help control the mosquito population for our citizens. They also maintain the grounds within the Blakely City Cemetery.
